JD Will Build The Largets Rooftop PV Power Generation Ecosystem

JD.com, Inc., also known as Jingdong and formerly called 360buy, is a Chinese e-commerce company headquartered in Beijing. It is one of the two massive B2C online retailers in China by transaction volume and revenue, a member of the Fortune Global 500 and a major competitor to Alibaba-run Tmall.

On
November 5, JD.com announced that by 2030, JD.com will also work with
partners to build the world’s largest rooftop photovoltaic power
generation capacity ecosystem. In addition, when JD.com determined the
long-term goal of the digital and intelligent society supply chain for
the next ten years, it clearly stated that by 2030, JD.com’s carbon
emissions will be reduced by 50% compared to 2019.
JD.com stated
that next year, JD.com’s "Asia One" smart industrial parks in Suqian,
Jiangsu and Xi’an, Shaanxi will use photovoltaic power generation and
energy storage facilities to provide continuous green energy for the
processing of more than 500,000 orders per day in the park, and build
the entire industry. The first batch of carbon neutral demonstration
parks.
It is estimated that by the end of 2021, Jingdong’s
distributed photovoltaic power generation capacity can be built up to
100 megawatts, and the annual power generation capacity can be used for
50,000 ordinary households a year. It is estimated that it will take
three years to build a 1,000 MW photovoltaic power generation capacity,
which can provide green energy for 85% of JD Smart Industrial Park.
