Structural Characteristics

Composition: It usually consists of a steel pile body, which can be round or square, and spiral blades welded to the pile body. The pile body is generally made of high-strength steel, such as galvanized or non-galvanized steel pipes or solid steel bars, to ensure the strength and durability of the pile. The size, spacing and pitch of the spiral blades are designed according to different engineering requirements and geological conditions.

Shape Features: It looks like a huge screw, with spiral blades distributed spirally around the pile body. This shape enables the foundation pile screw to be more easily drilled into the soil by rotation during the construction process. Meanwhile, when bearing loads, the spiral blades can provide a larger bearing area and better resistance to uplift and lateral forces.

Working Principle

Bearing Principle: The foundation pile screw transfers and bears loads through the interaction between the spiral blades and the surrounding soil. After the screw pile is screwed into the soil, the spiral blades will be embedded in the soil layer, transferring the load of the upper structure to the stable soil layer in the deep. When bearing vertical loads, the soil under the spiral blades will provide an upward reaction force to support the load. When bearing horizontal loads, the friction and interaction between the screw pile and the soil can resist the horizontal force and prevent excessive displacement of the pile body.

Installation Principle: It is screwed into the ground by using a hydraulically driven torque motor or other rotating equipment. During the installation process, the torque required for rotation is monitored to judge whether the pile has reached the soil layer with sufficient bearing capacity. When the torque reaches a certain value, it indicates that the pile can already provide enough bearing capacity to support the upper structure.
