Structure and Components

Adjustability

 

  • Tilt Angle: Ground - mount racks usually allow for adjustment of the tilt angle of the solar panels. The ideal tilt angle depends on the latitude of the installation site and the season. For example, in the northern hemisphere, a tilt angle approximately equal to the latitude can optimize solar energy capture throughout the year. Wind is a major factor, and the rack's height, panel size, and shape all affect its wind resistance. The design should also consider snow loads, especially in regions with heavy snowfall. The tilt angle and spacing of the panels can influence how snow accumulates and slides off, preventing excessive weight on the panels.
